The Kinetic Group Heartbeat Report

The Kinetic Group Heartbeat Report pinpoints the constraints of an existing workforce through the collection and analysis of data to determine skills strategies to achieve future goals. The data is supplied by participating mining companies.

Kinetic Group’s experienced research and development professionals collate data and analyse these constraints in the context of relevant environmental, social, educational and economic factors.

This Report, produced annually, identifies skills shortage by skills set projected over time. Specific strategies around skilling, education, recruitment and retention are delivered in the form of practical projects that deliver proven results.

The Kinetic Group Heartbeat Report 2012 draws on a comprehensive sample of human resource data covering 56% of the Queensland mining industry’s workforce; with data collected from more than 30,500 employees across 9 participating organisations.  The Report quantifies the skills shortage in relation to critical roles by aggregating data across the industry and projects skills shortages into the future.

Kinetic Group would like to thank the organisations who participated in the 2012 Report;  including Downer EDI, New Hope Group, BMA, Xstrata Copper, Leighton, Peabody, Manpower Group, Golding and Anglo American.
