GIQ Coal is a GI course for anyone already working in the Queensland coal mining industry. The GIQ Coal course was developed in response to the introduction of Standard 11, the new Standard for meeting health and safety obligations in the coal mining industry in Queensland in 2011.
The course is primarily designed for short-term contractors who move between multiple sites and have current industry experience relevant to their role, e.g. trade experience, heavy industry experience or mining experience.
The GIQ Coal course includes optional pre-course learning, the core course and an optional elective.
